Žarko Popović is a Senior Associate at Gecić Law in Belgrade. He heads the firm’s Labor team and is a key member of its Corporate/M&A and Dispute Resolution practices.
Žarko holds an LL.M. in International Law from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law. He earned his LL.B. from the University of Kragujevac, Faculty of Law. He graduated with honors, ranking first in his class.
Before joining Gecić Law, Žarko helped establish the Legal Clinic in Kragujevac, where he remained an active member for 3 years, working on matters involving civil and real estate law, discrimination, and labor and social law. He also participated in the “Big Deal” regional company law competition and the Regional Moot Court Competition in Human Rights before the European Court of Human Rights.
Žarko Popović has received numerous recognitions for academic excellence, including a scholarship from the University of Kragujevac Foundation for top students and young scientists. In 2019 and 2020, he was awarded “Dositeja,” a leading national scholarship granted by the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Serbia through the Foundation for Young Talents.
Žarko is fluent in Serbian, including Montenegrin, Bosnian, and Croatian, and English.
