Gecić Law has earned a place in the finals for Competition Firm of the Year at The Legal 500 CEE Awards 2026.
The Legal 500 selected Gecić Law among just seven finalists from across Central and Eastern Europe. Gecić Law is also the only independent law firm based in Southeast Europe shortlisted in this category.
The nomination adds another important recognition for a practice with a long-standing position among the region’s competition law leaders.
The recognition follows another outstanding result in The Legal 500 EMEA 2026. Gecić Law’s Competition practice retained its Tier 1 ranking in Serbia for the tenth year.
The directory also recognizes Founding Partner Bogdan Gecić in its prestigious Hall of Fame for the fifth year. It further highlights Anne MacGregor, who leads the firm’s Brussels office, and Živko Simijonović, both of whom play key roles in the continued development and success of the Competition practice.
The Competition team advises on some of the most complex and high-profile transactions and competition matters in the region, including major cross-border M&A, merger control proceedings, antitrust investigations and state aid cases. Team members have taken leading roles in major global mergers and landmark matters before competition and state aid authorities across the region and the EU. Combining deep knowledge of local and regional markets with EU competition expertise, the practice guides clients through matters where regulatory complexity, commercial significance and reputational stakes are particularly high.
The Competition nomination also comes during a landmark year for Gecić Law in The Legal 500.
The 2026 EMEA guide recognizes the firm across six practice areas: Competition; Commercial, Corporate and M&A; Banking and Finance; Projects and Energy; Dispute Resolution; and Employment.
This broad recognition reflects the firm’s continued growth and its ability to support clients on sophisticated domestic and cross-border matters.
The Legal 500 Central and Eastern Europe Awards recognize leading firms and lawyers across the CEE legal market. Legal 500 bases the awards on the independent research conducted for its annual directory.
The winners will be announced on October 15, 2026, at The Westin Warsaw.
We thank our clients for their continued trust and our Competition team for the expertise, commitment, and ambition that led to this recognition.
