Gecić Law advised United Group S.à r.l., Luxembourg (formerly Slovenia Broadband S.à r.l.), as lead counsel on the sale of its Serbian courier and logistics subsidiary, D Express d.o.o. Beograd, to Austrian Post.
Austrian Post completed its acquisition of 100% of D Express on October 1, 2026, following the Serbian Competition Authority’s approval of the transaction and the parties’ satisfaction of the remaining closing conditions.
The transaction represents an important development in the continued consolidation and expansion of the Serbian and wider regional courier, express delivery, and logistics market.
D Express is an established Serbian parcel delivery business with a nationwide operating network. In 2025, the company handled approximately 14 million parcels and generated revenue of around €36 million. Austrian Post already operates in Serbia through its wholly owned subsidiary City Express. Following completion of the acquisition, D Express and City Express are expected to begin a phased collaboration.
Gecić Law acted as lead counsel to the seller and led the legal management of the transaction under Serbian law.
The team advised on the transaction structure and the applicable Serbian corporate and regulatory framework. It coordinated the legal process and prepared and negotiated the transaction documentation.
Gecić Law also advised on the conditions precedent, closing mechanics, and the steps required to implement the acquisition. Following signing, the team continued to advise the client throughout the implementation and closing process, supporting the legal steps required to complete the transaction.
