Gecić Law is aware of a series of articles and broadcasts (re)published by news outlets in Serbia, the region and Luxembourg since August 2025 concerning the firm and its founding partner, Bogdan Gecić. These reports include inaccuracies, omit essential context, and create a misleading impression of the firm’s work.
Some of this reporting has sought to identify the firm and its lawyers with their clients’ causes. Such approaches misunderstand the role of lawyers, as the attribution of the client’s views or actions to its legal counsel disregards the independence of the legal profession and the lawyer’s professional duty to provide legal representation. As such, the coverage undermines the fundamental role that lawyers play in promoting the rule of law, securing effective access to justice and ensuring the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms. In 2025, all 46 member states of the Council of Europe committed themselves to safeguarding these principles and the independent exercise of the legal profession in the Convention for the Protection of the Profession of Lawyer (also available in Serbian on the website of the Belgrade Bar Association at the following link).

Gecić Law has taken steps to engage constructively, provide our perspective, request factual verification, and seek the publication of corrections and our response.
