We are delighted to announce that the application process for the Taboroši Scholarship 2025/26 is now open! This scholarship, awarded for the eighth time this year, was established in memory of Professor Svetislav Taboroši. The Taboroši Scholarship offers talented students a unique opportunity to enhance their knowledge and begin their professional journey in the exciting field of corporate and commercial law.
The Taboroši Scholarship is the first initiative of its kind, designed to encourage academic and research work among students and support their professional development. The scholarship was launched by Professor Taboroši’s former students, who aim to preserve his legacy and support young lawyers eager to shape the future of this branch of law.
In addition to a significant financial award, selected candidates will have the opportunity to complete a professional internship at Gecić Law, working alongside experienced lawyers specialized in business law.
Professor Dr. Svetislav Taboroši was one of the pioneers in researching the legal regulation of economic systems and reforming scientific research practices in Serbia. His passion for education and his contributions to legislation—particularly through his work on the Consumer Protection Law and other reforms—left a profound mark on the legal community.
Throughout his 42-year career, he taught Economic Law and delivered numerous guest lectures at prestigious universities such as NYU Stern Business School, University of Bridgeport, and Central European University. His dedication to students and encouragement of original research continue to serve as an everlasting model for future generations of lawyers.
The call is open to students enrolled in the fourth year of undergraduate studies at state law faculties in Serbia. Candidates also must have a grade point average of at least 8.5 to qualify.
Candidates should submit the required documentation and an essay on the topic:
“Artificial Intelligence as an Element Within the Judicial, Executive or Legislative Branch of the Republic of Serbia – Legal Framework, Limitations of Autonomy, and Mechanisms of Responsibility.”
This year, a Workshop on the Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Law will also take place at the Gecić Law premises. It will allow candidates to familiarize themselves with the latest AI tools and methods. Candidates may register for participation in the workshop via this online application form.
