We are proud to announce that Bogdan Gecić, Founding Partner of Gecić Law, has been named Vice President of the Harvard Law School Association of Europe (HLSAE). His appointment follows two successful terms as an HLSAE Board Member. It further reflects his long-standing commitment to building bridges within the legal community across Europe and beyond. As Vice President, Bogdan will help lead one of the world’s most active Harvard Law School alumni associations and contribute to its continued growth and impact.
Bogdan’s engagement with HLSAE has been meaningful and far-reaching. During his service as Communications Officer, he helped shape the organization’s public presence while working to deepen alumni involvement. For instance, he has actively mentored students through the Harvard Law 1L and LL.M. programs. Bogdan also played a key role in organizing community-building events. To this end, a notable milestone was the HLSAE Annual Reunion held in Belgrade in 2017, which he co-organized. This successful gathering brought together over 160 alumni and friends and highlighted Serbia’s growing presence in the international legal field.
Throughout his board service, Bogdan demonstrated strong leadership, collaboration, and a deep commitment to HLSAE’s values. These contributions have earned him the trust of the alumni community and positioned him to take on an expanded leadership role.
As Vice President, Bogdan plans to strengthen mentorship initiatives, foster collaboration across jurisdictions, and expand the association’s impact. His vision includes increasing engagement among alumni and empowering young legal professionals. He also aims to promote the values of Harvard Law School throughout Europe.
“I am honored to take on this role as Vice President of HLSAE,” said Bogdan Gecić. “Over the past years serving on the Board, I have witnessed first-hand the power of our alumni network. As Vice President, I look forward to building on this strong foundation – expanding mentorship programs, fostering cross-border collaboration, and supporting the next generation of Harvard Law leaders across Europe. Together with our members, I am excited to advance HLSAE’s mission and strengthen the bridge between Europe and Harvard Law School.”
Bogdan’s appointment coincides with an exciting leadership transition within HLSAE. At the recent annual meeting, Dr. Salomé Cisnal de Ugarte assumed the role of President. We warmly welcome her and look forward to her dynamic leadership. Bogdan and Dr. Cisnal de Ugarte will work together to implement an ambitious agenda that promises to take the association to new heights.
We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the outgoing President, Alvyda Usinskaite, for her remarkable contributions. Her thoughtful and energetic leadership helped HLSAE thrive during the challenges of the post-pandemic era. She certainly leaves behind a lasting legacy of growth, resilience, and community.
Bogdan’s appointment as Vice President of HLSAE indeed marks a significant moment for Gecić Law. It affirms our firm’s international engagement and our commitment to excellence on a global scale. We take pride in this recognition and view it as a meaningful opportunity to contribute further to the legal profession’s development in Europe.
We look forward to supporting Bogdan in this new chapter and continuing to foster leadership that connects legal professionals across borders.
