Gecić Law, in collaboration with Clifford Chance, proudly congratulates Telekom Srbija Group on receiving the Europe Telecom Deal of the Year – Financing Award at the prestigious TMT Finance Awards EMEA 2026. The award recognizes Telekom Srbija’s US$900 million Eurobond as one of the region’s most significant telecom financings ever.
In announcing the result, TMT Finance highlighted what the market already knows: this was a regional market-first deal. It set a benchmark for issuers from emerging European jurisdictions in international capital market transactions.
This recognition crowns a truly historic capital markets breakthrough. Telekom Srbija’s inaugural Eurobond marked the Western Balkans’ first-ever corporate bond issuance in the international markets, listed on the Dublin (Euronext) Exchange, and drew exceptional interest from global investors.
According to Telekom Srbija’s public communications at issuance, investor demand reached approximately US$5.5 billion. This amounted to around seven times the offer size. The deal indicated strong international appetite for compelling credit stories from the Balkans and wider CEE.

Participating banks included BNP Paribas, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, Erste Group, Raiffeisen Bank, UniCredit and MUFG.

As Telekom Srbija’s local legal advisor, Gecić Law’s Banking & Finance, Corporate, and Regulatory teams supported the transaction across its key workstreams — from cross-border compliance and multi‑jurisdictional regulatory requirements to execution support alongside the broader international adviser group. Our role covered regulatory analysis and approvals, local law disclosure and risk factors, enforceability and capacity opinions, coordination of Serbian law aspects of the transaction documents, and alignment of international capital markets documentation with Serbian regulatory and corporate requirements. We also advised on rating-related legal workstreams and continue to advise Telekom Srbija post-issuance on ongoing disclosure, bondholder reporting and regulatory matters before the National Bank of Serbia.
